Fashion Week, Weddings and Other Possibilities

I had an interview today with a woman from Show Space London to possibly work at the BFC Show Space for LFW. The woman was really nice and hinted to me that I got a place and said she will email me so life is good :). She basically just checked I would be free, asked about my previous LFW experience and asked who my favourite designers were. At that point my mind went totally blank and I could only think of 4! 4! How pathetic is that! As soon as the pressure was off I could think of hundreds, but when it matters? Pathetic brain. I also have a job interview tomorrow and with all this on top of my Cousins weddings coming up and all my Uni work things are starting to get busy.

I am partly excited about LFW just to blog about it. I never blogged about my LFW with Goodley PR but this time I will make sure I do! Should be a lot more exciting this time around! PPQ, Holly Fulton, David Koma, Mark Fast, Betty Jackson, Daks, Jaeger London, John Rocha, Ashish and Mark fast are amoung some of the designers set to show this LFW at the BFC Show Space. I must say (assuming I have the place) it is all going to be very exciting!

MENTAL NOTE: DAILY COMMANDS

If there were road signs like this on every street corner, I'm sure the world would be a better place.

REASONS TO BE HAPPY

We all have so much to be grateful for in our lives, especially living in New Zealand. I could sit here and rattle off fifty things I'm grateful for without having to pause and think. Life is so good. Here are a few tips for living a GREAT life.

Don't waste energy trying to change the things you can't change. Focus on the things you can change instead.
The universe will provide when the time is right. Anything is possible in this life; you can dream for the most outrageous things and they can happen.
When you criticise yourself as a person, it becomes toxic. One word: DON'T.
Be satisfied with everything you've achieved to date. Everything should always be good enough. Nobody's perfect. NOBODY!

California Dreamin'

Yesterday was spent taking advantage of the LA weather.  Although a few orders of ice blendeds at Coffee Bean turned to more than 30 minutes of waiting, (thanks to a big group of teens who kept changing their order) the rest of the day was great :
Browsed shops at the Prominade; The Pier
watched the sunset
followed by dinner and oversized margaritas*

No Rain, No Gain

Spent the beginning of a very rainy day at a bridal shower at The Tea Room in Montrose;
Which meant overdosing on tea & tables filled with adorable finger sandwhiches & dessert platters.
Now off to do some much needed reading & studying. Stay dry*

Mundane Monday

Just woke up from a nap, & I feel pretty dazed after a day of staying home & studying. I'm currently rejuvinating with music & tea.

It's Raining, It's Pouring...

I've disliked the rain since my accident last month, which was conveniantly in the midst of a rainy finals week. My campus gets flooded with puddles on wet days & I end up with soggy wet feet. Finally home after the first day in the new semester, I blow-dryed my toes, had soup, followed by some freshly baked cake.

I thought I'd post this picture from Prada's lookbook for SS '10, which is currently my desktop background & because after the rain comes a rainbow?..or so it goes.

Body Art.

I have always been brought up being told 'Never get a tattoo... they are a waste of money... will look nasty when your old... you will regret it...' etc.
But as Oscar Wilde famously wrote "Youth is wasted on the young."
I think if something is meaningful enough to you it will never lose its beauty, besides I never intend on getting old.
Maybe its just the influence of images of Freja Beha Erichson and the Suicide Girls, or me going through a rebellious stage but I think sometimes that they can be really beautiful. It is a work of art.

Here are some I came across that I really liked...

I speant a while contemplating this one thinking that it should say 'heart' and not 'bliss' but I think that is what makes this one so personal. Perhaps this person doesn't believe in love. The idea of the heart monitor suggests they live life on the edge and perhaps they like their relationships the same way.

This is another one people may percieve as stupid, but what if Spiderman is this guys hero and always has been since age 4. If he is this old and still regards him as a hero why not. Maybe he is scared he will forget his childhood hero, or maybe he is just following his childhood dream to be Spiderman when he grows up.

I like this one because what it says on the post stamp could be an important day to a person. A day they never want to forget. Maybe even your birthdate and place could go there.

I'm a cynic and like the idea of having eyes on the back of my head.
Girls can be such bitches.
