The ART ~ My René Gruau collection

I'm all-happy cause among the bounty of things I bought Sunday at the vintage market of Piazzola sul Brenta there are some old advertising drawn by René Gruau (1909 - 2004), renowned advertising illustrator of XX century.  Gruau became one of the best known and favorite fashion illustrator of the haute couture world during the 1940s and 50s. Elegance, grace and luxury characterise the work of "the man who loved woman" as called by his peers.

The VINTAGE ~ Vintaging on a Sunday morning

This Sunday I went to a very big vintage market in Piazzola sul Brenta. Over 700 italian and foreign stalls in the amazing Paolo Camerini's square and Villa Contarini. The market, born in the 1979, is the second in Italy for number of exhibitors. The market offers a variety of household, old furnitures, home decors, period pieces, dresses, jewelery, laces, ceramics, old books and prints, objets d'art and collecting valuables from many eras. The VINTAGE ~ Look back to go forward II

This saturday I have been to Padova Vintage Festival with my boyfriend. Over 25 of the best italian stalls of tantalising vintage and unique handmade designs for men and women. To buy vintage is to buy a piece of the past, not only are you kitting yourself out in unique designs and unusual finds, but the recycling element ensures you are also doing your turn for the good of our eco system. Lot of art, music and, of course, fashion workshops. Here are the photos of some amazing pieces I discovered here and there.

This saturday I have been to Padova Vintage Festival with my boyfriend. We have visited an amazing exhibition dedicated to the history of fashion of the nineteenth century, curated by   A.n.g.e.l.o. Vintage. An historical archive of vintage garments gathered from all over the world. The peculiarity of this collection rest upon the presence of evening wear designed by great taylors such as Emilio Pucci, Pierre Cardin, Christian Dior, Chanel, Emilio Schuberth, etc... Silver Lining

Recently I have been really in to jewelry. Not the fancy stuff, just things you can wear all the time with everything. I took some pictures of the jewelry I have and wear regularly.

Not great quality as I can't get my SLR to connect with my pc at the moment so its digital and was hard to get a decent focus. Once I get that working again...

Anyway, voila!

 

  

 The one on the left I used to wear all the time but being fake from Topshop it started to loose colour so I now wear the middle one, vintage, which belonged to my great grandma, and the silver one which I bought in Eygpt.

  

 My earing tree. My earings are the only things I ever change. I never used to. My jewelry wearing tendencies have really had a role reversal.

 I got this Alice in Wonderland style fog watch necklace from Topshop for £20(ish).

I adore it! And it has a working clock and such cute details!

 

Now I really want a nice expensive ring that I can always wear.

I also want a Bex Rox bracelet and a small Tiffany one.

One of the £100 ones. They are cute and not too much.

Poor Calvin Harris may be replaced as my music obsession sooner that anticipated after I just watched the video for Hadouken!s new song M.A.D which was amazinggggg!!!!!
I also just heard their remix of the Sugababes' new single Hey Sexy; again, amazing!
Calvin replaced Florence but sadly hes being shoved aside.

I just finished reading Chuck Palahniuk's Fight Club which I read after his Haunted. The best two books I have ever read, and I have read quiet a few doing English Literature A Level.
So if anybody is looking for a quirky author, hes the one for you!
Fight Club is perfect if anybody is doing 'The struggle for modern identity' as their English Lit AS topic. It is also an amazing film which I also highly recomend. xxxx

Milan Baby!

Hello everybody :)
Sorry I haven't posted in soooooooooooooooo looooooooooooong!
I have just had some things going on in my personal life so have been unable to post,
but! I am back! and ready to post again like there is no tomorow.

MILAN!

A beautiful little city. A little gruby and grimy but charming with its contrast of historic monuments and its graffiti covered streets.
When I visited we wanted to see lots of the city. We went to the Duomo and went on its roof and if the roof itself doesn't satify you with its beauty the view from the top sure will. I also wanted to go to the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro Design Museum, the cute vintage boutiques, the macarbe San Bernardino Alle Ossa Church, with its walls covered in skulls, but unfortunatey everything is shut in august. It seems strange to me why you would shut your main attractions in a peak tourist season, with even big stores such as M.A.C closed for the month but we had plenty of fun riding the trams and the underground. On the underground they had cool fans which also sprayed water, a relief and a half I can tell you. Now I will never complain about the London Underground being to hot again.
For a fashion capital the people are not very stylish, something I can compare similarly to Paris. I can understand why they don't wear heels much though, as in the slow paced city people walk everywhere. Lets just say OUCH! My feet were in need of a nice hot bath by the end of the day.
Food of course was great. Great pizza. Great ice-cream. Great Italian food done well.

But personally I find these alot more interesting...

What sort of photography do you prefer? The nitty gritty street style or classic beauty?

I also saw the most AMAZING duvet cover in the window of a closed shop....
