DISCONNECTED FROM THE VIRTUAL WORLD

NO cellphone or internet for 6 days = startling revelation. I was in Gisborne, NZ, visiting my Mum and Dad last week (hence no blog updates because they live in a valley with only dialup and limited cellphone coverage). It was bliss.

Holiday realisations:
  1. I'm a tad tired of karaoke and the karaoke video clips that go with. I will never take part in a 5 day karaoke bender again, no matter how enticing it seems.
  2. The older I become, the less I care for sunbathing in temperatures above 25 degrees. Warm, but cool, or in the shade is so where it's at as you approach 30.
  3. The love I have for my parents grows more and more each time I see them, but I wish they would get my name right when they talk to me and not call me by my sister's name each time. It's completely forgivable though since they're so awesome to me.
  4. I used a rifle for the first time in my life and shot an empty Sprite bottle. First and last time I'll ever use a gun. It just felt so wrong!
  5. We don't need Facebook in our lives - Facebook needs us and today I hear it's worth $50 billion! I enjoyed being without it for 6 days (but did kinda enjoy catching up on the last six days this morning in a guilty way)
I hope 2011 is kind to you wherever you are in the world. Oh and thanks to all of you who read my blog last year. I got heaps of hits when I was away on holiday and feel a bit stink I couldn't keep you updated due to the technology hiatus!
