RENKON: 65 PITT STREET

My husband took me to Renkon for dinner tonight. It's a short stroll around the corner from where we live, which is dangerously convenient. Ahhh...trusty Renkon. You are so cheap and cheerful. AND SO, SO TASTIFUL!

Hubby ordered Chicken Katsu on rice. ($11.00)
It's the only thing he ever, ever orders.

I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki on rice. ($11.00)
It's the only thing I ever, ever order.

I'm thinking of asking the chefs for their recipes, even though I know they're not likely to give them to me! I don't mind a bit of rejection. I asked for the recipes at Hede in Wellington and got a nervous laugh and a list of ambiguous ingredients.

I tried recreating Renkon's version of Teriyaki Chicken at home but it just wasn't the same. If I ever pluck up the courage and get the actual recipes, you'll be the first to know about it.
