LIMO OR BUS?

OPRAH WINFREY once said: "Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down."

This statement about friendship got me thinking about my close circle of dependable girl friends.

I took these pics back in April when my husband and I hosted our sten's (stag+hen's) party on a fancy yacht. The girls look so pretty in their cute nautical outfits!

My thoughts about friendship started this morning when I was on a Skype call with my three amazing girls in London: Yvette, D and Tash. It was a case of one/two degrees of separation when I met them 11 years ago through my ex-boyfriend and we have been friends ever since. Lesson: never underestimate the value of an ex!

I really miss contact with the girls because they live in London now. The world has been pulling each of us in different directions, across various cities and continents for a while. What I appreciate most is that despite geography, we have grown separately without ever growing apart.

I am also super lucky to have two other besties I can call upon in Auckland - Kimberley and Hannah. They are my angels and we have been having amazing conversations in the past few weeks. Here's how I feel about my friendship with them at the moment:

"Friendship is a treasured gift, and every time I talk with you I feel as if I’m getting richer and richer" - Unknown

I'm so blessed for all my girl friends. I hope this post is enough for you to think about your friends and realise how much they mean to you. Have a great day. xx
