I never got around to seeing A Single Man when it came out. Regrets! When I heard that fashion designer, Tom Ford, was directing this movie, I was curious to know how he would step up to the plate, hailing from the fashion world and all.
(FYI: Tom Ford has his own label, but is famous for being a creative director for Gucci and YSL. He took Gucci from near bankruptcy in 1999, to the value of TEN BILLION in 2004, before he stepped down.)
Julianne Moore stars in this film and I think she is incredibly gorgeous. Ok, so without giving away too much, this movie is about a college professor (Colin Firth) who is confronted by the sudden and tragic death of his long-time partner. This film received a 10 minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival. Honestly. Can you imagine clapping for 10 minutes? I can't wait to see it.
